A significant piece of the Juniper Flats landscape has been purchased for conservation by the Mojave Desert Land Trust. The 595-acre property borders the Juniper Flats National Conservation Lands, strengthening the status of this protected land.

The National Park Service has purchased 680.8 acres of private land within Death Valley National Park’s borders. A 10-year journey to expand the northern boundary of Joshua Tree National Park was successfully completed on Tuesday following the presidential signing of the California Desert Protection and Recreation Act.
