Acrisure Arena, the EAGLES donate $20,000 to aid in the long-term preservation of the California desert

Joshua Tree, California – The Mojave Desert Land Trust (MDLT) is honored to receive a joint $20,000 donation from Acrisure Arena and the EAGLES.

Acrisure Arena, the newest world-class venue in Southern California, has donated $10,000 to MDLT in honor of the EAGLES. The gift was made in conjunction with the band’s recent performance at the newly-opened Coachella Valley venue.

In addition, the EAGLES are matching Acrisure Arena’s donation to aid in the ongoing preservation of the California deserts. The legendary band featured Joshua Tree National Park on the cover of their eponymous 1972 debut album.

The joint donation will help MDLT continue to protect the California desert ecosystem for future generations.

To date, MDLT has conserved more than 110,000 acres of ecologically significant lands in the Mojave and Colorado Deserts. These acquisitions forever weave together national parks and monuments, wilderness areas, and wildlife linkages. MDLT plays an important role by acquiring and conveying land to National Parks and has protected over 11,000 acres within Joshua Tree National Park alone.

The EAGLES played two sold-out shows at Acrisure Arena as part of the Coachella Valley venue’s official Grand Opening event earlier this year.

“We are deeply grateful to receive these gifts from both Acrisure Arena and the EAGLES. These donations will enable us to continue to do this desert conservation work at a very critical time. The California desert is under enormous threat from climate disruption and habitat loss. We greatly value this support from our local business and arts community. This gift inspires us to work harder,” said Kelly Herbinson, Joint Executive Director of the Mojave Desert Land Trust.

MDLT is one of the leading land trusts in the country. Since its founding in 2006, MDLT has donated more tracts of land to the National Park Service than any nonprofit nationwide. It has cultivated a multi-faceted conservation strategy that utilizes land acquisition, research, restoration, stewardship, plant conservation, and outreach to focus on the long-term preservation of the California deserts so they may continue to thrive forever.
